A Note to Music Educators:
Are you looking for an inexpensive way to bring experienced jazz musicians for your students and audience to hear? Booking Southern Minnesota's 'REAL Big Band' may be the answer. As you know young jazz musicians need to HEAR jazz, and hear it played well. At these concerts we typically split the performance with the school jazz band.
Other options include:
-featuring a local music teacher or outstanding student musician solo with the RBB
-do a combined side by side finale with RBB and your school band
-feature an RBB soloist with your band
-hire one of the RBB educators to do a jazz clinic in your school the day of the concert
-feature the Real Jazz Combo, seven of our top players in a combo setting
We do not have an appearance fee but schools often offer $250-$500 to help pay for expenses. We perform to help promote jazz as America's art form, to keep jazz alive, to enjoy playing and sharing this great music!
